Halong Bay is the center of a wider zone that includes Bai Tu Long bay in the northeast and Cat Ba Island in the southwest. This bay has thousands of limestone karsts islands in different shapes and sizes. Evolution of karsts in this bay has occurred more than 20 million years under the influence of the tropical rain climate. In this bay, there are biodiversity for more than 14 species of endemic flowers and 60 species of endemic fauna.
